How to self-cure a skin-tone identity disorder?!

Question: How to self-cure a skin-tone identity disorder?
I was born with naturally blond hair (though it had brown in it) and very dark blue eyes. My dad has brown skin and brown hair with green eyes and my mom used to be dark like that too but is pale now, she has auburn-red hair and my eye color. Her dad was half-native american as was my dad is a quarter native american at least if not more so. Also, I am beginning to believe that his grandparents and my mom's grandparents were Roma/Gypsies. As of now I am pale (I have forced myself to be so but let me get to that) as a kid I was too but I always tanned really easily. When I hit about 13 or so I adopted this philosophy that in order to not hop on the "everyone should have tan skin, blond/e hair and blue eyes" bandwagon (as I really disagree with that) and to prevent being stereotyped as that kind of person, I intentionally kept out of the sun in order to continuously whiten and loose the darker complexion. This has been going on for a few years now and right now I'm as white as a ghost but I have red cheeks now a lot (I have to take all kinds of measures to prevent it and rid myself of it when I do get it) and turns out I have Keratosis Pelaris. So now I'm using this medicated lotion on the red areas to get rid of it. I think this has to do with this self-standard I have made to prevent that stereotype I mentioned earlier, what should I do?

Please ask your doctor if a moderate exposure to sun will correct your skin condition.

And please stop obsessing about your genetic makeup from your ancestors...we are what we are and only a genetic roll of the dice determines that.
