Question: Mental illness question: how might perphenazine act to a person going through mania?

if the patient is presented a extremely hyper (hypomanic), can perphenazine cause them to sometimes be very, VERY jumpy, to suddenly having the need to sleep?

Answers:

I took perphenazine, it is an antipsychotic and used to calm emotional and mental problems, I did not stay on it for long as it made me feel restless, don't put up with side effects until you have tried the other antipsychotics, I like chlorpromazine and prochlorperazine best.
Trifluoperarazine Stelazine is very cheap and helpful but it does not suit everyone.

I did a quick google on this ... One site said it can cause mania and yet another site said that perphenazine with a mood stabiliser can help mania as the mood stabiliser can take some time to enter the system ... this is one for a Psychiatrist I think
