Is it normal to still be a virgin at 18 years old?!

Question: Is it normal to still be a virgin at 18 years old?
I'm an 18 year old guy and i've never had sex.

When I was younger I was dating girls and overall really confident, but when I was about 14 I started getting spots (acne) and since then i've been shying away from every opportunity. There was this time when a girl I really liked asked me if I wanted to go out on a night with her and some friends from school but I just made up an excuse to get myself out of it because, even though I fancied her, I didn't feel like I deserved her and like she deserved someone better than me if that makes any sense.

But the thing that's worrying me is that even if an opportunity did come along, I don't think I would take it; and with my acne not getting any better and everyone else experiencing all the best parts of being young, I feel like i'm falling behind.

Not really sure what i'm asking really, but if anyone has gone through anything similar or can see some way out I would be grateful, because I don't hold much hope for anything in my life at the moment.

Try to stop being obsessed with this fact and just get on with enjoying your life and you might find that this is no longer the case sooner rather than later. Don't forget that when your friends say that they'd lost their virginity by the age of six months that they're probably lying - teenage boys always exaggerate to make themselves sound better, so don't measure yourself against their boasting. I was actually 23 when I lost mine, but as a 40 year old man with a family and several previous relationships it seems crazy that I used to worry so much about it.

Maybe I wouldn't have had to wait until I was 23 if I hadn't gone around being so desperate about that insignificant little fact. Ignore the pressure, just go out to have fun on your own terms (not 'on the pull') and you may be surprised what can happen if you allow it, rather than trying to force the issue. Desperation is not an attractive look.

Aww, of course its normal. You're clearly not ready, and so you should wait, and i know it sounds cheesey but, for the right person. :) You're not falling behind, you're still young and should enjoy life, before things get complicated, and even if it is just sex, it can be complicated.

So, i'm 15 and I have prolly 5-10 pimples on my face at all times and I have acne scars. Idk why girls like me or think i'm attractive but they do. There are remedies to get rid of acne (Proactiv doesn't work by the way). Just be confident, and be young. Sex is probably better as a teen/young adult

Everyone seems to be so scared of being different from the rest of the 'herd'

Yes it is fairly normal to be a virgin at 18

You are in a minority but it's a big minority - so don't worry you are not left behind. Much

Haha 18? Thats not normal everyones getting laid on the first week of dating nowadays!

im an 18yr old girl N still a virgin!!

Goood Job!

it is OK don't rush it.

Every one develops at their own rate.

good luck

Use Proactiv acne cleanser. It works the best.

proactive.
and dont say words like 'fancied' makes you sound lame.

yea it's okay...

Yes it's normal and believe me, sex is overrated....sometimes. Sex can complicate a relationship or friendship you might have with someone. Not sure about men, but i know a lot of women regret their first time because they've rushed into it. Confidence will come sooner or later and i don't think you should rush it to "catch up" with everyone else your age. You'll know when you're ready, be patient. If it's the right person, they'll like you regardless of your acne or any other flaw you may think you have. Sometimes it's a mind issue that only YOU see.

Lets get your acne cleared up and your self confidence restored so you can enjoy your youth....because that's what its for.

First, go to the drug store and buy a bottle of alcohol or witch hazel and use it daily before bed. Wash your pillow cases in hot water twice a week. Get a good dandruff shampoo and use it daily. Do these three things and you will see results. And you can expect your acne to go away as you start to shave because shaving scrapes off the oil, dead skin and debris on your face and prevents acne from forming...you'll see.
Being a virgin at 18 is not a sin nor are you behind in your social development. You haven't found the right partner or the right time in your life and that will come in time. You're doing just fine. Soon, summer will be here and there will be many social occasions that you'll be invited to so go and enjoy yourself...that's what being 18 is for! I wish you all the best.

There's not a given age that you "have" to have sex by.

I don't think it's abnormal at all.

You need to have some confidence in yourself!
just because you have acne that doesn't mean you're not still good looking, or a decent person.
Despite what you may believe, or have experienced.

Not all girls are stuck up and all...like that lol
I know a lot of girls who are just looking for a nice guy who will treat them well.

You just need to have a little bit of confidence, and you'll find that girl.

If you really want to find something to get rid of your acne, if you really feel you can't be confident otherwise....

Try "Proactive" if you haven't yet.
from what I've heard it works pretty well.

Good Luck, you sound like a nice guy.
Keep Looking, you'll find the right girl :)

Experience.
