Is it normal that I felt weird while giving blood?!

Question: Is it normal that I felt weird while giving blood?
had to get a blood test
and for the first tube i was fine but when she
put the second tube, halfway through i felt really
weird and giggly and on the third tube, i really didnt
know what was going on...it wasnt dizziness, it was
like spacey and disoriented...is that normal?
I wouldnt ever do that again because I was sure I
would pass out.

When a person donates blood for the blood bank they need to be hydrated so they don't faint.

Where you hydrated enough? there are 4 ways to see how hydrated you are.

1) when you open your mouth and look in the mirror is there groove down your tongue?
2) do your eyeballs feel spongy? don't push hard and always only in the white area.
3) when you pinch the skin on your forearm does it stay pinched when you let go?
4) what color is your urine? it should be clear. not yellow clear.

If it is yellow you have not drank enough WATER not Soda!

I have never "given blood" but have had blood tests like you. I am 105 lbs and my whole arm went cold. It took a while to warm it up again. Everything did seem a little spacey and it left a softball sized bruise at the needle site that took a month to go away.

Yes, giving blood is wired. Nervous laughter + anemia.
