I am afraid of others dieing. And I think about it a lot. What is normal?!
Question: I am afraid of others dieing. And I think about it a lot. What is normal?
I am not easily afraid. But I have one fear, one I've had as long as I can remember.
I am afraid other people around me, the ones I love, will die or get severely injured in some kind of way.
I think about it a lot and I sometimes cry myself to sleep thinking my dad has had an accident and I couldn't remember the last words I spoke to him.
I am not afraid of dieing, not more than anyone else I guess.
(no one wants to die, and staring death in the eye will be frighting I can imagine.)
My question: is it normal / healthy to get a sudden rush of fear around 2 / 3 times a week about this particular subject? Do others have something similar? Or should I talk about this?

I think you just stopped taking them for granted, which is a good thing.
I think about death constantly (It's part of my OCD),
but I've always been like that, even when I was young.
Just spend a lot of time with your family and friends, and just so you know, they all have decades more to live. So just try to keep calm about it.
Me, too.
I have experienced the exact same thing its a really horrible sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach isn't it?.. Except ive only had it a few times and i get it not randomly but after seeing the person, thing is when iv had it it happens .. first i remember was when leaving a family member 6 years ago and a month or so later they were murdered, Then i had the same feeling the other day with another fam member and a couple of days later they got really badly beaten up. i hope yours doesn't end up being something like this and im sure it wont be, as often as you experience it. I don't think its quite right though .. worth talking to someone about if you can, i wish i could but .. cant :/
