Im really excited about going back to the mental ward. Do you think this is norm!

Question: Im really excited about going back to the mental ward. Do you think this is normal or not?
I just left a mental ward and my mom is looking for a different ward to put me in. I was in the ward cuz of thoughts of harming myself and others. Im excited that i get to go back to the ward. I really loved it there cuz life was much easier in there. Life is just too hard on the outside world. Oh and i do have a appointment with my therapist early 2morow morning.

It is probably because you are on a schedule there and meet new people who will go away soon, maybe you can talk easily to them. I have bi polar and I understand. Coming out means you will have to face the world and not have everyone do things for you. Hope you can come to grips with that and find joy in creating your life. What you put out is what you put in. Put in positive things and that is what you will get in return. You are creating it..might as well create goodness and beauty.

Take care and find the love in everyone.

I understand how you feel. I have been in the hospital several times and I want to go back again. It is nice to be in a place where others understand you. You can just be yourself there without being judged. I wish I could have stayed longer when I was there. They always push you out after about 10 days or at least they did with me. Try turning to God, don't harm yourself. God can give you hope. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

I can understand wanting to go to the psych hospital to receive the attention and medical treatment you need however it is no place to be excited about going to. After a few days you will feel crazy. Time goes by so slow in the hospital. You won't feel excited about it after a few days.

I feel the same way ...Its easier to be in there .I want to go back .but my way is to OD

Own experince

Is it normal for me, no. Is it normal for you, thats probably why you are going back.

I hope you dont harm yourself or someone else so you can get back there

Attention seeker. You are most definitely normal
Now deal with it like the rest of us

nope, your fine. mental wards rule :)

I've been in a psych hospital twice, and just like you, I find it very relaxing and very therapeutic. You don't have to worry about anything because everything is taken care of for you. They bring you your medication when it's time, your meals are ready for you at the same time each day, and there's always a mental health professional to talk to if you feel the need. Activities are organized for you to keep you occupied and it is just so nice to be in a place where you don't have to worry about the daily struggles of life, so I totally understand. What's not to like about it?

However, you cannot spend your whole life there. The purpose of a psych hospital is to rehabilitate you and prepare you for the real world by teaching you the skills you need to cope with life outside the hospital.

I don't think it's strange at all that you like it there, but you are eventually going to have to learn to cope with life. Stay as long as you need to, but your goal should be to stabilize your condition so that you can live a rich, fulfilling life. Think of all the things you're missing out on being in the hospital. For one thing, you lose your freedom. You can't come and go as you please. Outside the hospital, you can go to a movie, or to the zoo, or take long walks, or go camping, or whatever else you want to do. You also miss out on romantic relationships and good friends. Those are not options in the psych hospital. Focus on your recovery and once you are released you will find life much more enjoyable.
