Marijuana has been found to exacerbate depression. Not only that, but you CAN develop a psychological dependence.

I wouldn't say someone with clinical depression specifically, but there are people who have unpleasant highs when smoking MJ. My sister has an anxiety disorder and MJ just makes her panic. But others I know with depression actually feel a lot happier when they take it. It depends on the person. Some people have a prescription for medical MJ in order to TREAT their depression.

mj has different affects on everyone due to the imbalance amount of thc that your body is taking in. might get those "holy crackers! get me down from here high" or paranoid. Have a friend of who is clinically depressed sometimes after 5 puffs hes more cheerful than little bill and bill cosby combined! sometimes hes a Philosopher on mount hyji god knows what that is and sometimes he plays dead

I agree with the above poster.....probably the only side effect is the Paranoia....however in the States, in Medical Marijuana states...they prescribe it for depression, and can have medicinal qualities....the problem with buying "street" Marijuana...is you don't know where it's grown, what care has been taking during the growing process, etc.etc. It can't kill you though...

Yes. Depression can affect not only illegal drugs but legal ones as well as far as side effects. Of course, some depressed people feel better when they use pot in moderation (a few tokes before bed time usually). Never use around children, or even in the same home with them sleeping in it.

I think paranoia is just the problem.
