What is this voice in my head?!?!

Question: What is this voice in my head?!?
Okay so for the past 5-6 months this voice has developed in my head and it tells me to do the stupidest most useless things and I always end up listening to it because it says something bad will happen If I don't. For example it goes "turn off and on the light twice or else this-and-that will happen" or to get a specific drink when I'm in the kitchen for water or anything like that. I tires ignoring it and was succsessfull for a while but it came back again after I went through some deppression and now I can't get it to stop and I listen to it too..I can't help it mos of the time what is this mean??

Depends how old you are. If you're in your early 20s it's probably schizophrenia. If you're in your teens it's probably a symptom of an anxiety disorder. OCD, GAD, etc. I'm thinking OCD because it sounds like the voice is telling you to do something, so you feel anxious about not doing it. You probably feel better when you do what you're being told to do by the voice. Some people with anxiety develop coping mechanisms, this could be one. Also, you may be psyching yourself out. You may have began talking to yourself, and after awhile ... or once, you heard a voice. You worried about hearing it again, or convinced yourself it was really there, so your mind is playing tricks on you.

You need to see a therapist, this is obviously abnormal.

It's your brain playing tricks on you. It can't hurt you. Try not to listen to it, and go see a psychiatrist. Dealing with problems like yours is their job.

I've read enough textbooks on stuff like this to fill a small room.

Tell the voice to stop or you're gonna open up a can of whoop *** on him

It's the devil, don't listen to him, he wants to annoy you.

You need to see your doctor. He may be able to give you some medication to get reid of these voices.
