I'm excellent at writing, but horrible, atrocious at math. Why is this?!
Question: I'm excellent at writing, but horrible, atrocious at math. Why is this?
I also don't remember things too well. Certain events stick in my memory really well, but most things I forget easily. I can barely multiply, but I have a book working on being published, and I'm 19.
I was told that I was using one side of my brain more than the other, though I don't know which one that is. I'm also female, and right handed, and I have a very slow metabolism so I'm a bit overweight. Are these contributing factors to why I'm excellent at writing, but horrible at math?

Answers:
Math and writing use different sides of the brain. People typically are better at one or the other.
Writing is creative, math is not.
That's strange, you've just described me - except I'm a guy and I'm far too impatient to get past 2 chapters of a story idea before moving on to a new one. Also 19 and a bit overweight. Can't do math for the life of me. Hang in there, sister.
