Question: Help with a Manic-Depressive episode?
Anyways, I am self-diagnosed manic-depressant ... I don't want to go to a psychologist cause that **** may screw up my life depending on what i wanna be when i grow up. Anyways, i have episodes periodically, can't sleep, cant eat... but usually I am home and not 2000 miles away and the episode may only last one day... This current episode is lasting over 4 days... im a typical "macho" guy .. 210 lbs, into weight lifting and did MMA and football ...but I was in tears crying ...hysterical ..this morning.... in past 4 days ive gotten a total of 8 hours of sleep and i have had a total of 1 and a half meals...i need help, i had to come on here and vent , i have no one else to turn to and dunno who to talk to.

Bipolar Disorders are only successfully treated with medication. I've seen patients do great on Abilify.

If you really have the disorder, postponing treatment leads to quite undesirable consequences down the road: incarcerations, involuntary psychiatric hospitalizations, drug abuse, homelessness.

edit: Well, you probably have met successful professional people who have Bipolar Disorder, and not even known it. If you work with a psychiatrist and adhere to a successful medication regimen, it should not prevent you from becoming a lawyer. If you want to work in a nuclear program, it may be a barrier, however.

Get a counsellor to talk to sure it will help
