His parents are cruel, they're probably the REASON why he's mental.

Sorry, but once a person are in there, they do stuff to patients, so they never really get better, by drugging him.

There are far more people who are jailed and mental, but not in institution.

Have shown them on soaps like Young & the Restless.

It depends on what kind of treatment program he was admitted into.

Are you talking about a psychiatric unit at a hospital? I have been in the hospital several times and my shortest stay was 7 days while my most recent was 16.

If you're referring to a treatment program solely for depression, there are places people go for depression that are almost like rehab facilities in that people may stay there for several months. Most of the time programs like this set the length of stay at 1 month, and based on progress at that point decide whether a longer stay would be beneficial or not.

Hi there if your boyfreind needed hospital treatment for his depression its likely that not even his parents will be allowed to visit for at least 2 weeks, mostly for that time he will be quite heavily sedated on medication depending on how bad he was on addmission, his treatment and follow up counciling may mean that he stays in hospital 6 to 8 weeks depending how quickly he responds to his medication, but just remember he is getting the valuable help he needs to make him well, and if you know which hospital he is in if you ring they will tell you when he is allowed visitors, good luck and happiness for both your futures,Carol

it depends on how fast he gets well. if he responds quickly to the medications and to the therapy he could be out within a week. if not then he could be there a few months. it really varies. also it depends is it just depression or did he try to commit suicide?

been in the psych ward 4 times after attempting suicide from severe depression. the last time i was in i was in for 4.5 days. the first time i was in for 4 months.

It's hard to say based on complex depression issue with that person. I seriously think Laughing gas treatments may help some people with mental issues. Triggering different nano neurons inside there minds release good chemicals inside body.. (( My answer is not meant to be funny, but a reality idea treatment for some ))

It depends. My grandmother was in one for about two months.

depression is treatable with doctors and nurses and medication positive changes may help. time, loving support for you.

It depends on what kind of depression, and the severity. And, of course, the doctor.

It would depend on the severity of his depression and what kind of progress he makes through the weeks..........

I stayed for 13 years. And they couldn't keep me for any longer. But it's not done. No it's not done at all!

sorry . i guess till they feel he is better
