Anyone else understand?!

Question: Anyone else understand?
Im 20 years old and I think i've been depressed since I was 13. I've never been one to talk about my feelings, I saw a psychologist (wasn't able to open up or explain what I feel)...then a psychiatrist who prescribed me medication in which I was on for up to 2 years called cipralex. I eventually went off the medication and started working out and getting in shape and felt really good off the medication. When i'm happy i'm very happy, but when i'm sad i'm sad and I feel like the depression lasts way longer like sometimes a couple months and I can't snap out of it no matter what I try. I feel like everyday is the same and i'm wasting my life and I hate living like this when i'm young, these should be the happy years. However I donno what else i'm supposed to do when I can't even really talk about my feelings or why I feel that way..hmmm...anyone else understand or have any advice?

I find it really difficult to open up to people as well. When I was going through depression as a younger teenager I never spoke up about it, and even when I did with my first psychiatrist I resented her for trying to dig into my life and hardly told her anything. This sad that you can't snap out of IS the depression, and when it's going on for such long periods of time, the feeling of you wasting your life, that's serious. My advice to you is to definitely try to talk to somebody, just because you once talked to a psychologist, doesn't mean it will be the same with a different psychologist or psychiatrist at a different age. Try it out, and tell them your problems with opening up, they'll be able to help you.

get yourself some boyfriends
if the cipralex helped for depression before, take it again when depressed only
keep working out
maybe get a dog and take for walks

This may sound selfish, but focus on yourself. Do you. Do what makes you feel the happiest and don't worry so much about everything else. I'm not saying you should be careless or inconsiderate of others. Just figure out what things occupy you and make you feel the best and go for it. Also, find things that make you laugh like the funniest movies you can remember and watch them and maybe some funny clips on youtube and MAKE YOURSELF LAUGH. Simple laughter can heal quite a few things. Eat some of your favorite foods too, even if you're on a strict diet. Occasionally this won't kill a diet. Good Luck.
