Whats the best way to relieve stress when you have too much work?!

Question: Whats the best way to relieve stress when you have too much work?
I've been having a really stressful week in school, and i cant seem to relax when i need to. I've had about three big projects due, and one of them all my friends have been sort of arguing over trying to decide what we are suppose to do. my friends keep saying "you can do that, but your gonna fail the project..." and stuff like that which is just adding to my stress.
is there any way i can get my work done, and not have too much on my shoulders?

We all go through times like this and it feels really unpleasant.

First of all, ensure you stay organized. work out all the various deadlines for projects etc. Make yourself a schedule for any homework that you need to do, breaking up each project into manageable pieces. Plan in time for both studying and time to relax. Pin this up wherever you study at home. Try and leave one day at the weekend free from any work or study at all if you can.

Have some faith in your own judgement about what you need to do to pass your projects. If you are unsure or concerned about what you are doing, ask the course tutor or teacher. Basically, avoid being drawn into debates or arguments with friends. They are most likely no better placed to advise on what is needed than you are.

Look at your current habits and routine in terms of studying. From the information you have given, the following might be helpful.

Try and take only a minimal break before starting any home study when you get in. This will help you stay in work mode enough that the tasks get completed and ensure you have time to relax later on without worrying about unfinished assignments etc.

Try and make study and relaxation times as distinct as possible. That way you feel you are achieving in your work and enjoying your free time without thinking about study.

For example:

Keep your study area formal. Sit at a table or desk rather than on your bed or the sofa.

Switch off social networking sites and your phone etc during work time.

Once you are done keep the distinction between work and relaxation going. Pack your work materials away ready for the next day. Let this packing away signal that work is finished.
This is now time to chill out. You say you can't relax when you need to. Remember, relaxation doesn't have to be difficult so don't try too hard as this is counter productive.

If you have activity or social events some evenings then just go ahead and enjoy, knowing all your work is on schedule.

If you are staying in, take some quality time for yourself. It's your time so enjoy it.

Try to relax physically and mentally. Below are a selection of relaxing activities that I have collected from various sources over time.

Watch tv
listen to music
chat to family at home or friends on the phone
surf the net
go barefoot
take a bath
yoga or exercise
care for a pet
draw or write

there are loads more, just search "ways to relax"

Hope this helps

1. Assess the 3 projects from the easiest to the hardest. Start with easiest first.
2. Cut up the project from simplest to the hardest accordingly. Produce a time line to complete it.
2. Do the simplest first and then do next until your get to the hardest.
3. Take a breather and see what you have achieve.
4. Continue with the next project starting from S/No. 2
5. Hope this helps.

Have a cup of tea, what else all are doing the same. Me too.
