It's definitely real. The brain of an ADHDer is chemically understimulated, and the psycho-stimulants (like Adderall, Vyvanse, or Ritalin) help those with ADHD much better than those without it. I know an ADHDer that when he takes his Ritalin, he gets calm and relaxed..
BTW don't diagnose yourself with ADHD. A psychologist or psychiatrist should do that. You can have issues with attention but not have ADHD (I'm one of those people).
If you don't know if the Adderall is making a very helpful difference or not, chances are you don't have it.
ADHD is real, but you've got to keep in mind how it works. They have a list of symptoms. If a child (or adult, but they're harder to diagnose) has a few of those symptoms, they're "normal". If they have a lot of them, they have ADHD. That is to say, there's no clear thing that separates people with ADHD from active people without it, they've just got more of it. Because of this, it's easy to to think that ADHD doesn't exist, and in a sense, you might even be right.

I used to think that ADHD could be cured with Omega 3s, multi vitamins and a healthy diet. Nope, it's real. I have a mild version of it. My friend is on Concerta cuz he can't focus at all without it. For me, ever since I started taking Mind Boost by Mastermind Supplements, I noticed that I could focus more, and because of the caffeine it it, it's just like methylphenidate for me. If they have meds for it, its most likely real because the meds act on parts of your brain that arnt working right.
