Question: Hello anxiety and ocd , please read (lack of confidence)?
i suffer from anxiety and a form of ocd , i have a counsilor and she says i am sabotaging my relationship because i think im worthless, my confidence has hit a all time low , i was going to go into the gym at lunch and i got really panicky because people were in there and i just cryed , and every time i watch a horror film or sad film i would cry alot . really what i want to know is if its normall ?

Answers:

I can understand your problem. It is not easy to switch off the off switch on OCD because if you could I reckon you would! Anyway, this is what I did I said to myself when an OCD problem occurred that I would have to brace my self and ignore it. Yes, it was very hard at first, but you have to be brave!

how much exercise are you getting? much of this anxiety can be burnt off through activity. can be dance, can be running, can be singing in the chorus/glee club, can be gardening. keep trying to help yourself. keep trying alternatives when one doesn't work. sitting and sobbing is not a solution. so if you want to resolve this situation, you have to DO something. why is your counselor not directing you into different activities where you might excel and then feel proud of yourself? have you taken any aptitude / interest tests?
