1. Nope

2.-5. ---

6. No, though you can never be sure, maybe I just don't know about it.

7.-8.----

9.Just stop, I don't really know what else to say. If they're dumb enough to do it in the first place then I don't think they'll listen to reason.

1. Yes.
2. Most, if not every night.
3. I cut using scissors or any sharp object I can find; or I purge because it has the same effect.
4. Yes, I went over 3 months without cutting, and went back to it recently.
5. Ooh, there's a few reasons..I have depression, so when I'm feeling particularly low it takes my mind off the emotional pain, if only for a few seconds. I have anxiety, so cutting sometimes stops panic attacks and makes me feel a lot calmer.
Also, my suicidal thoughts are really bad, and cutting gives me something to live for. It's the only reason I get out of bed in the mornings, just knowing that when I get home from school I can cut.
6. God I hope not...But not that I know of, no. But I know people who used to by either pulling their hair out, or pinching.
7. When I stopped, it was my friends and the people around me. I could see it was upsetting them, so I stopped, even though I didn't feel ready. And recently I've felt like nobody cares anymore, so I went back to it..
8. Yeah, I'm currently getting counselling. It's not helping much though.
9. I'm gonna sound like a complete hypocrite here, but I think it's important to stop. As we all know, self injury is an addiction and it just gets worse over time. If you've just started and are not addicted, then stop, no matter how hard it seems. You have to put in the effort to stop it while you still can, because it will be worth it. If you're addicted, I would say look into professional help if you haven't already..and find other ways of coping with the feelings, like martial arts, smashing bottles safely, hitting pillows, writing your feelings down on paper, and the most important one: TALK TO SOMEONE! Anyone you trust, message me if you don't have anyone else. I know I sound like such a hypocrite, but it saddens me to think that other people feel the same as me and worse.
10. More support from friends is probably number one..one of them has little habits which we've talked about. I told her that it gets to me, and that right now I need support, and she calmed it down for a bit, but she's being annoying again -.- I can't expect her to understand, but I feel really vulnerable right now and I honestly feel like anyday now I will just explode.

1. Yes

2.Maybe once or twice a month. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

3.I usually let my cat scratch me when it wants to or I just use a razor.
(I know the cat-thing might seem strange but it's true)

4.I've tried but it only lasted a couple of months, maybe 3 or 4.

5. Because I want to let the pain out. I prefer feeling exterior pain than interior pain. I like seeing my blood spill. I usually self harm because I feel everyone is against me, my boyfriend and I had a fight or I feel guilty for something.

6.Four of my friends used to do it. They've stopped. I think.

7.Haven't stopped.

8.Counselling after my mother caught me trying to cut myself with a kitchen knife at the age of 14.
The psychologist helped me change my cutting routine from everyday to every month.

9.I don't know. See a psychologist ?

10.If the world would be an easier place. I wish long distance relationships were easier. I wish schoolwork was easier. I wish parents were more comprehensible. I wish people were nice to me.

PS: I'm now 16.

1. Do you self harm? (If no, please only answer questions applicable to you)
I used to.

2. How often do you self harm?
Almost every day when I was really bad.

3. How do you self harm?
At the start I cut myself with a knife or razor blade. When that was gone, I used to scratch myself really deeply, I used to try and choke myself too.

4. Have you ever tried to stop self harming and how long did you last?
No. I was forced to stop, at the beginning of last october.

5. Why do you self harm?
Sometimes just for rush of adrenaline when I was depressed. I got hooked on it. Twice as a suicide attempt, and at once time I thought that micro-chips had been injected into me by doctors to control my thoughts and actions. That was after the knives, matches etc. had been removed, and that was when I started using my finger nails more often to scratch.

6. Do you know anyone who self harms?
I didn't until I began treatment.

7. If you no longer self harm, what made you stop?
I am no longer left alone with sharp objects etc, I'm on heavy meds for shizophrenia, psychosis and bipolar disorder, and I get checked twice a week for self harm marks etc. I also don't want to go back to hospital again. It was terrifying.

8. Have you ever been to hospital/received special attention for self harming (i.e counselling)
Yeah, but it was mostly for my other issues. Self harm was just a side effect. I go to psychologysts/psychiatrists at least twice a week, I spent 8 weeks in a psych ward and another 5 weeks in a psychiatric hospital.

9. What would you say to people who want to stop self harming?
Don't get caught.

10. What would help you stop self harming?
The fear of going back to hospital.
