Talk it through with a trained counsellor. I say this only because you are scared of letting out your anger. If you do things on your own to try and release, you may feel very uncontained when you allow the feelings to surface.

I'm guessing you may have a scary image in your mind of what releasing your anger might look like. Perhaps you are smashing things or a person is getting hurt, maybe even you. Remember anger doesn't have to be expressed in frightening or destructive ways.

As you work through it, the anger may feel very powerful at times. You can work together to feel contained outside the sessions. With an appropriate counsellor you can plan how to manage the reality of being in touch with your anger.

You could, in the meantime, take up some exercise to burn off energy and tension. It doesn't have to be something that mimics being angry and kicking or punching. Running or aerobics etc might help.

Hope this helps.
Best wishes.

seems like a lot of people will turn to creating music poetry and art for this sort of thing. it is not good to hold it in or turn to alcohol. or you could go into boxing or any other sort of physical activity like that. running lifting etc.

my dad is an angry alcoholic

second the martial arts class- something very healing about exercise and hitting something.

You should get yourself a punching bag and take out some of your anger on that.

relax first then control that anger then concentrate on something

Pick up a martial arts class.
