Question: Why do I do this to myself?

I feel I have spent my life waiting. I put my life on hold until that day comes, and then I feel I need to wait for something else. I can't have a life by living this way. When I was 17 I thought I wanted to be a truck driver, so I waited 3 years until I could get a license and start driving. I now qualify for driving, but I feel I can't live my life with a criminal record, so now I'm waiting 4 years until I can get the record sealed. I can't even get a trucking job with a record, what the ****. I can take a bachelors program to fill the time, but what then? My life is 100% regrets. If nobody gives me a chance then why ******* bother. Have any of you tried applying for a job? You know the feeling when you go for the interview? Try going in and having to check yes to criminal record. No hope.

What you are saying you are really stuck and realised that it is best to stay on the
clean and narrow highway.
I really think that you are heading for a good permanent future but the waiting for the record to be sealed will have to be endured there is just no way out of it.
But after that..truck driving is a good occupation. It will support you one day when you want to start a family. Try to stay positive. Sometimes the law can work wonders as it did with you.
Best is as is to just go along with what ever you have to do and dont get disheartened untill the lights are on for you again as in when your record has beed sealed.
