My husband has a severe panic attacks when he has to fly and as a wife I don!

Question: My husband has a severe panic attacks when he has to fly and as a wife I don't know how to help?
My husband has to be VERY heavily medicated in order to fly. Unfortunately he is required for his job to travel. He has some how had a bunch of jobs close to home and now after a year of not flying he has to get on a plane. We have been told by doctors if he has another panic attack he will most likely have a heart attack. He is convinced that if that happens he will die. I am mortified. I don't know what to do to help him. The way he talks about it makes me upset because my father died of a heart attack. However if he sees me getting upset it just puts him even more on edge. So I have been trying not to get emotional or say anything about it. I just don't know how to help him. My fear of losing him is overwhelming and I am afraid to leave his side in case something gets worse and he starts to have chest pains. He has to fly in about 2 days and his anxiety levels are already starting to rise. Any advice from anyone with severe anxiety or spouses of people with severe anxiety would be helpful. This is way more in depth than he just doesn't like to fly. If I could tell him to count to 10 or flick a rubber band on his wrist I would but what he experiences is way past that helping him.

First of all, no normal job is worth his life or health! If he starts to have another panic attack, stop everything and make sure that he knows that he doesn't have to get on the plane! If quitting flying or quitting his job is ultimately impossible, then therapy and maybe medication could prove beneficial. Just remember to never let him knowingly walk into a situation that could prove dangerous to him. It's just not worth it!
