I used to take it, and I think I took mine in the morning. I didn't take it with food or anything. You could always call the pharmacy and ask them. They should be able to tell you if you need to take it with food. Or call your doctor's office and speak with his nurse. She'll be able to answer all your questions. Until then, just go ahead and start taking it. You're only taking half a tablet, so it'll be okay.

I think most people take their Lexapro in the evening, or right before they go to bed - although others take it in the morning.

After you've been on the Lexapro for a while (more than six weeks) you might experiment to find the time that works the best for you. I found (by experimenting) that taking my Lexapro with dinner works the best for me - I sleep better at night, and I'm more awake the next day.
.

I take generic Wellbutrin SR (150 mg) in the morning, and Lexapro (10 mg) with dinner, for depression and anxiety. I've been taking that for over two years, and it's working very well for me.

Surely the doctor would have told you and it would be on the label of the tablets, aboput when to take and how much.
U say u know how much. This medication is an anti-depressant NOT an Anxiety/Panic attack reliever...Used to attempt to control Anxiety and major depression, you would take at least one tablet a day..possibly before retiring.
I am very surprised the doctor or the chemist (Pharm) didnt' give u advice.
NOTE: this medication has side-effects
