Question: I cut my arm & I didn't feel any pain?????:(?
Answers:
Sometimes a deep cut will bypass the more sensitive pain receptors in the upper layers of skin. Also your body releases epinephrine (adrenaline) and norepinephrine that suppresses pain as part of the fight and flight response.
How deep did you cut? If you can see any yellow bits (fat) or if it's gaping at all, or bleeding a lot you may need stitches. Also watch out for infection with deep cuts.
You haven't asked for help with stopping so I won't lecture you on that; only I will say that you need to get some help for what you're feeling in regards to your break-up, and that self-harm is not a good coping mechanism.
Other than that, try to remember some safety pointers; make sure whatever cutting instrument you use is clean and never use anything rusty. If you cut deeper than you intend to and it won't stop bleeding, get help. And get stitched when you need to or you'll get massive scarring
Personal experience with self-harm
We have to and can get over the pain from rejection. You need to get into therapy. I am a therapist and one of my specialties is in releasing the pain from relationships. I utilize an alternative therapy approach that is very effective and short-term. I can do sessions by Skype. My website is www.PositiveEnergyTrans.info I think you would get over your depression in two sessions. Your parent may be willing to pay for this, if they understand you are really depressed still.
Adrenaline. You were all pumped up for whatever reason, and when you have adrenaline, your skin becomes numb. Stop doing it.
Because the pain you feel inside is far greater than any physical pain that can be inflicted upon you...
