What to do with sleep anxiety.?!

Question: What to do with sleep anxiety.?
I have trouble falling asleep, i keep having thousands of thoughts rushing through my mind. I have thoughts of something happening in my sleep, people breaking in and how vulnerable i am when i'm unconscious. once in a while i go through sleep paralysis, but i taught my self not to fear it and wonder if that has to do with my anxiety. Takes me around an hour or so to fall asleep while lying down since i have to keep opening my eyes making sure everything is fine. Is there anything i can do to stop this from happening to me?

P.S. I don't eat four to five hours before i go to sleep, so lets throw that possibility away.

Unknown,

If you are having issues that are preventing you from getting the rest that you need, and it is causing stress and anxiety, then you probably need to see a psychiatrist. They will prescrible you with some sort of sleep aid and/or anti-depressant mood stablizer that will keep your mind from rushing around so much at bedtime! My best advice is to make an appointment. It sounds like something that may be out of your control.

Try talking to a friend about this, or open up to the possibility of therapy. Me personally, I try calming my mind before sleep with meditation, music or positive company. I still suffer from anxiety and find that I'm less afraid when I have people around.
