Yes. It's called being cross-addicted, and it's very common. In fact, there's a saying in the rehab groups (like Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, etc.) that unless you belong to at least 3 addiction groups, you're kidding yourself. Some prefer one thing above all, but addiction is addiction so even if they'd rather have cocaine than alcohol, they still need the alcohol. The same personality traits that make you likely to be addicted to one thing make you more likely to be addicted to another thing.
Sure, you can. for example, You can be addicted to caffeine, cigarettes, and alcohol all at the same time. Or any combination of anything. I figure that is probably a common combo. Or say, a sex addict who also is addicted to cigarettes and heroine. its absolutely possible.
Most often, a particular substance or habit has more immediate or evident effects on a person, which is why it may seem they "prefer" it more, when in reality it is just more noticeable.
Yes, of course you can, addiction is mental and physical. I suppose all junkies have a favorite though, just like a person might like movies but have a favorite one.
Can you like both chocolate and vanilla? Maybe. Can you outrun and escape from the cops I just notified of your delinquent behavior? Not likely.
