What is schizophrenia. and can a person with it have a loving relationship with !

schizophrenia is seeing & hearing things sometimes that aren't really there. Though I don't see why you couldn't have a loving relationship with them though!

Shizophrenia and Schizo Affective Disorder is a psychological disorder characterized by visual, auditory, or olfactory hallucinations, grandiosity, detatchment, and paranoia. Unfortunantly, schizophrenia is a disorder that usually is not treated by psycho therapy alone. Most patients will need to take medications to avoid the symptoms of the disorder. It depends on the severity of symptoms on whether or not the affected person will be able to function in a intimate relatioship. Some patients are completely able while on medications, while others have extreme paranoia that makes them avoid intrapersonal relationships all together. The significant other needs to completely understand the disorder, know the symptoms and know they can come on even with medication, know how to deal when a schizophrenic does experience symptoms, and understands the every day battle they go through. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder where the transmitters in your brain transmit to much dopamine and serotonin. This causes paranoia, delusions, comatose, depression, and hearing and seeing things. People with untreated Schizophrenia think that people are out to get them, trying to kill them and harm them any way they can. But treated Schizophrenics can live a normal life. The paranoid delusions get so bad that the person has a psychotic break. To answer your other question, yes Schizophrenia does nothing to your capability to love. It might make a relationship a little complicated but it is still very possible.

If your involved with someone who has this i can only say RUN as fast as you can in the opposite direction..my ex had it and acted like a crazy lunatic....NEVER again will i be with someone who has schizophrenia!!!!!
