This is absolutely cause for concern. An interest in guns and war isn't bad or even that unusual, but pretending to shoot people and wanting to die are definitely things to worry about, autism or not. It's a good thing he's in therapy and on medication; his death obsession is likely related to his depression. If this boy is a family member or friend, it would be a good idea to bring this up to his therapist or parents.
This are normal things that is done by a kid having this syndrome. But its good that he is on medication. Maybe it would be better if you offer him some toys to divert his attention. Any toys except weapons to refrain him for his shooting mannerisms.
