I need SOMEONE with a loud voice to help Adult Autistic Son?!

Question: I need SOMEONE with a loud voice to help Adult Autistic Son?
Son needs Emergency Adult Autistic Care!!!! NO ONEE WILL LISTEN

I HAVE SENT SEVERAL EMAILS TO STATE ELECTED OFFICIALS WITHOUT A RESPONSE, I HAVE SENT EMAILS TO FEDERAL MEMBERS OF MY SENATE, ONLY TO BE TOLD IT IS A STATE MATTER. I HAVE SENT EMAILS TO ADVOCACY PROGRAMS AND DIRECTORS, NO ONE WILL LISTEN, WILL YOU?

BUT, I have tried so hard to get people to listen to me, I am soooooooo worried for my son. He does not even have a stable home life right now due to outside interference from other people who only care for themselves. But………… here goes my story:

I am writing on behalf of my autistic adult son, Lee.

Before I continue writing, let me say I am Lee’s mother, and wish nothing but the best for him. I raised him until he was 14 years old, at such time he lived with his grandmother and grandfather until he was 16.

Although Lee has the problems and issues you read here, please keep in mind that he also is kind, gentle, loving, giving, and actually needs to be watched in society so he does not get robbed or give away his money. He loves his family, including his parents, grandparents, his 5-year-old sister, and many others in his life. Lee’s problems are not a sign of a criminal or mean personality; but a result of his inability to manage is emotions independent of his actions. Example: frustration turns to anger turns to attempt to understand, turns into misunderstanding and paranoid behavior.

Lee is diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrom and ADHD. Lee is in desperate need of immediate assistance with his daily life and learns how to lead a productive life. Although he is disabled, his IQ is borderline normal in the 80’s range. Lee is as “book smart” as almost all other individuals his age. However, Lee is not as mentally developed socially.

He needs assistance coping with daily life skills and activities
He needs assistance coping with daily easy-to-manage problems
He needs assistance learning how to care for his living arrangements
He needs assistance re-learning the skills he learned as a child
He needs assistance re-learning care for his own hygiene
He needs assistance complying with society rules & following directions
He needs assistance following advice of trusted family members & friends

IF LEE DOES NOT RECEIVE ASSISTANCE IMMEDIATELY, HE MAY ENTANGLE HIMSELF IN SOME TYPE OF PROBLEM CAUSING HIM TO LOSE HIS FREEDOM DUE TO LACK OF IMPULSE CONTROL!

Since Lee has been away from most of the assistance he had as a child, he has become extremely difficult to deal with. He allows his emotions to run rampantly against others when it appears that they stop him from having his own way or doing what he wants. He feels a need to take an aggressive stand towards family members who attempt to receive compliance towards daily chores or issues.

Lee has, of course, a complex and difficult past and background. As a child with ADHD and ASD NOS, he experienced physical, emotional, sexual and psychological abuse at different times during his childhood from as little as before preschool and as late as age 16. He has been in therapy ever since he was small, however, due to the drastic nature of the abuse he had dealt with; the therapy was possibly trumped by the abuse. Much of the therapy and emotional help he received in his pre-teen years does not show in his current behaviors.

Indeed, I would have to say in my opinion, if it were not for the years and years of therapy Lee had gone through, he would not continue to conquer difficult times, which had befallen him. He had an infant brother die at 4 days old when he was eight. Although we did not think he would understand, he did so amazingly well. It was completely heartbreaking for him and, I believe, took some of his mental illness to a more difficult level.

As Lee had grown, through therapy, we had found that he was sexually abused many times during his childhood, from other children that he knew, relatives that betrayed him, and after the abuse, Lee started inappropriate sexual behavior on other children himself. He had to go through three years of intensive/extensive behavioral therapy at Summit Quest Academy near Lancaster, PA. As a result, Lee knows right from wrong and has realized how wrong those things are. Although I know that Lee still struggles and needs therapy for venting on this issue and just making sure all is ok, he has remarkably shown the ability to comprehend and act accordingly in situations with children. His family also continues to follow his daily behavior.

Please, please contact anyone you can, Mental Health/Mental Retardation will not see Lee due to their conflict with his family on what is best for his well-being. As almost all high functioning Autistics, Lee does not belong in a permanent facility. He just needs to learn or re-learn the coping skills he had when he was younger.

Lee goes to ACRP Psychological outpatient for his medications, which are not stabili

I understand your frustration. I really feel your pain. My mother has taught special education at all ends of the spectrum for about twenty years, and have always been fascinated by her work. I apologize I have no incite to lend you, but I know my mother most certainly would.
