nothing seems to be going right in my life?!

my dad has been in the hospital for almost a week and we thought he was getting better but then something bad happens. he means the world to me and it kills me to see him like this. i can't even focus on my classes and i'm failing everything. and i know i'm smart enough to do it, i've just given up because i'm failing. and because i'm failing i'm second guessing myself as to whether i can evern do my major. i've been severely depressed for 4 months because i transferred from a school of 2,000 students to 60,000 and i'm having a very hard adjusting. i miss my friends and can't seem to make any good ones here because they all bail on me or just don't care. i've tried medication and counseling and nothing is working. its affecting my life. i really see no good in people which makes me very mean towards them. i have a short temper and every little thing makes me angry. everyday is a struggle. i really don't know what to do anymore.
