You should NEVER hit your child. I think the best method is the hand squeeze. It doesn't hurt them at all it just gives them the hint that you're pissed off and scares them a bit.

Abuse of a child would entail physically hurting them (slapping, bruising, etc.) or verbally to the point that they feel that they are inferior to others around them.

Both of these forms of abuse are such that the child is not able to function in a normal manner which would be expected in any situation that would arise in the future. It is not unusual for these children to not understand what was wrong with this type of punishment and they tend to carry it out on their own children.

No one should have to experience the ordeal that abuse to a child would entail.

A smack on the butt is all good if they are being real fresh. Other than that a time-out is useful. Anything else is abuse in my opinion. It's too easy to get carried away when kids are punks thats why the time-out is useful cause you both get a break. Beating kids just makes them ******* or it makes them afraid of you, both are no good.

Hitting a child will do them no good. It will most likely make them afraid of you and disrespect you.

It puts hair on your chest and turns you into a responsible adult!
