What are clear positives from taking Citalopram 20mg?!
Question: What are clear positives from taking Citalopram 20mg?
I started with 10 mg, and now I am on 20mg (for 2 weeks already). I feel calmer, but still low on energy.
However, I am suffering some clear side effects: very sleepy, headaches, feeling very sick, low appetite.
I am not sure whether it's worth continuing with this medicine. Has anyone seen very clear positive results after taking it for a while? if so, what were they?

My Wife has been on this medication for sometime, and has not experienced the side effects you describe, so I would go back to your doctor and ask for an alternative. On the plus side, my wife has calmed down significantly from taking this medication, and although most of the reason for her original diagnosis and prescribing have passed, she continues to take it, and will at some point (i hope) ask to be taken off or have a reduced prescription.
I should add, that I do not know the level of her medication, ie. 10mg or 20mg.
I'm on 20mg too, but I don't get the same side effects as you. Sometimes I feel a tad sicky, but not much to be hoenst. I just feel calmer and better about things in a general sense. Although it is still hard energy wise, to push myself to do stuff, but they're definately helping and I definately have more energy from being on them and aren't as tired as I used to be.
Maybe talk to your doctor and ask if there's an alternative. Medication just varies from person to person.
