i feel like people can read my mind (only occurs when having bad thoughts)
never smiling always looking miserable
suicidal thoughts (getting better)
making up words (usually between friends as jokes)
hyper sensitivity (may do to being overweight)
not social, prefer to be alone (may be do to weight)
sometimes random outbursts of violence
listen to weird music (metal or horror core)
random anxiety
research serial killers or crimes (fascination) - may be due to career i want to pursue
cant form relationships
rehearsing convos aloud (said to be a common sign) - :(
smiling during sad events - happened recently
doing worse in school - grades getting better
want to smoke - common 70 - 90 %
say little in conversations
OCD - culture

These are the ones that apply to my life daily and that scare me
- thinking people are watch you (camera, recorded etc.) - i always used to feel my teachers video taped me or my parents and would actually search the classroom and my house for little spy cams (stupid i know)
- very smart - i am very Intelligent especially in language
- mind reading (people i thought could read my mind)
- sometimes feel like im possessed by a demon
- feeling like im sick such as a pervert, killer, phys co,
this last one is weird and i feel so embarrassed saying these ones that im tearing up and getting hysteric i never told anyone this
- fetishes - some being smell such as feet, scat (poop) - very disgusting and some ones like brother sister fetish or cousins. (NEVER DID ANY IN REAL LIFE) - that's gross

i am SO embarrassed to say that but please i need help. i dint know if this is real or my mind is making me seem its real. i looked at the symptoms that applied to me and listed them. im so scared i feel sickness coming on. i actually im sobbing while i write this. i also think some social issues are because im embarrassed as to how i look. I cant tell my parents because they will think i am weird trust me. i never saw a doctor because i cant afford one. im worried if i do have it that i will kill people and be a psychopathic freak. but the thing that gets me down the most is that if i have schizophrenia i cant per sue the career i have been dreaming of and that im working towards. please help it really took alot of shame, guilt to write this. and doing this really lowered my self esteem but i need help. Just remember what you feed your mind stays there.

If you read or listen to upbeat music that really calms you down, then do that. Stay away from stuff that is harmful, even people that are not nice and cruel to you.

You have the right to a happy life. It's what you feed your mind is what makes you a human being. So continue to do good things. Now you may not be able to control what is in your head but you can learn to repeat certain sentences that will help your memory to absorb good things. Say to yourself daily "I am a good person. No one is ready my thoughts. How can they? My thoughts are in MY head, not theres. No one is out to get me. That's silly. People like talking to me and being my friend. I love myself. I can overcome this and have a happy, beautiful life."

You can put these phrases on 3x5 cards and read them over and over. What this does is reinforces your mind of good things, so when the bad pop up, you will remember these good phrases and they will be there MORE Instead of the bad. You can find other good sentences to add to your collection. Get a 3x5 plastic box to put your cards in. Refer to them daily. Write them on your binder outside cover. Paste them inside your locker.

The more and more you have the good thoughts, that part of your brain will kick in to the good and you will start feeling better, even on your meds.

i dont think you do... if you do i do. I'm JUST like that. Don't let yourself get so down. it just sounds like you may be a little depressed but dont worry your not alone.

talk to your school counselor bro. if you were concerned enough about your problems you would have told your parents by now.

You're just an average teen.

no you don't have

According to NAMI, the nation’s voice on mental illness:

The symptoms of schizophrenia are generally divided into three categories -- Positive, Negative, and Cognitive:

Positive Symptoms, or "psychotic" symptoms, include delusions and hallucinations because the patient has lost touch with reality in certain important ways. "Positive" refers to having overt symptoms that should not be there. Delusions cause individuals to believe that people are reading their thoughts or plotting against them, that others are secretly monitoring and threatening them, or that they can control other people's minds. Hallucinations cause people to hear or see things that are not present.

Negative Symptoms include emotional flatness or lack of expression, an inability to start and follow through with activities, speech that is brief and devoid of content, and a lack of pleasure or interest in life. "Negative" does not refer to a person's attitude but to a lack of certain characteristics that should be there.

Cognitive Symptoms pertain to thinking processes. For example, people may have difficulty with prioritizing tasks, certain kinds of memory functions, and organizing their thoughts. A common problem associated with schizophrenia is the lack of insight into the condition itself. This is not a willful denial but rather a part of the mental illness itself. Such a lack of understanding, of course, poses many challenges for loved ones seeking better care for the person with schizophrenia.

However, let me be clear. I nor anyone else can diagnose you online. Share your concerns with your parents or any other adult that will listen and seek treatment soon. It's ok to be scared but the sooner that this matter is addressed the sooner you can start to manage whatever's going on in your life and you will feel a lot better. Good Luck!

This is hard because you're 16 and going through plenty of changes during puberty. But you still shouldn't feel like this you should really turn to somebody for help, like a specialist. These aren't normal thoughts. Are you getting delusions, hallucinations or paranoia?. Talk to someone you trust, Although It could be other things such as bipolar disorder or depression.
But no-one can really tell, only you will know. But i advise to go and get help anyway.
Hope this helped:) good luck!

schizophrenia is in my family dad had it my dads brother and my dads dad
and my brother probably will

and to tell u
even tho
they knew there family had it
when they got schizophrenia they didn't think they had it
so yeah they don't know they have it
even years later they still don't know they have it or anything and they dont even think there father had it

umm if your worried about it get help the earlier on u catch it the better of u will be

You sound like a normal teenager, calm down.
but if you are in fact really worried about this then contact your guidance counselor or a therapist who would be able to diagnose you properly, as opposed to yahoo answers where the highest form of a phd you'll get around here is one someone got out of a cereal box.

Ok first of all let me clear one thing. This is not schizophernia. My observation is that you have been abused from classfellows in the past and you feel insecure about yourself.

Number one thing you must remember. Nobody can change your life except you yourself.

Have you ever seen yourself in front of the mirror and said to yourself "I love myself" while making joyful expressions? No. I dont think you ever tried that. It sounds crazy but if you say that atleast 50 times after you wake up everyday before getting ready for skool, all the symptons which you have mentioned above will disappear.

The next thing which you need to have is have TRUST in people you meet. Lack of trust leads to lack of friendship and lack of co-ordination. Just imagine that everyone you meet at school is your friend and wants you to succeed the next time you meet them.

The third thing you must do is start listening "spa music" before going to sleep instead of loud fast music and talk sweetly with people.

Best of luck Dude! Hope it helps.

Gone through the teenage symptons myself.

some of this stuff sounds VERY similar to some stuff i have been going through for years. i was initially diagnosed with depression and then a few years ago it was changed to schizoaffective. look it up if you dont know it. it's basically schizo - a mild form of schizophrenia affective - mood disorder.
but of course the best thing you can do is talk to your doctor, or even your school counsellor...but i know options like that are terrifying...but it will only make you more and more paranoid if you dont get it out,, trust me. my paranoia got worse because no-one knew about it.

please talk to someone, honestly it will help whether you are ill or not. and if you are, remember there are things to help.

Schizophrenia is something else. The nature of schizophrenia is a breakdown of the blood-brain barrier which is leading to poisoning some nerve cells which die. You may interpret this as a loss of nerve cells and a loss of brain volume with time. But you did not mention specific symptoms associated with.
Up and downs in emotions in stress situations are normal. Low self esteem and feeling guilty might
be a symptom for depression which might be accompanied by paranioa.

yea buddy calm down, everybody goes through weird changes at 16. You probably don't have schizophrenia. It normally shows up when people are very young...like 2 or 3. They act very strange like staring at the walls when there is nothing there and crying all the time. They also make dramatic movements. But this all happens when they are very young...hang in there brother. growing up is tough.
