why do i feel so down all the time?!

Question: Why do i feel so down all the time?
so im in high school in my last year gonna be leaving in may/june sort of time, so shouldnt i be happy and excited, for the last couple of years i havent really felt happy at all, its not like im depressed i just dont see the point in anything (im not thinking of suicide sont worry), i have been thinking maybe its my diet i dont eat particularly healthy can this make me feel down?? the last time i felt happy was when i was in a relationship which only lasted for about 3 months, it wasnt a bad break up we are still friends now, should i try dating, any suggestions on how to just feel happy and more outgoing??
also my sleep schedule isnt great i usually get to sleep at around 12 on a school night but even at the weekend when i get enough sleep ill feel really tired, again could this be linked with my diet??

tbh you just sound exactly the same as i do! im around the same age..... i have been worse since my breakup from my boyfriend but were still friends, i sleep for ages n still feel tired, i go to bed around 12 when its school, ect and feel pretty rubbish!

i think you sould be looking for another relationship to cheer you up...... im looking but cant seem to find one! the feeling is normal though, teenage years are some of thehardest of yur lives and it WILL get better

talk to your friends..... some of them might even be going through the same thing

or talking to the school councelor might help?

all the best...... and good luck for any exams your doing x

It sounds like you pretty much know the answers to your question!

There a many factors that contribute to your mood or mental state. If you aren't happy, then you are probably depressed. There is a wide range of depression. Anywhere from slight and temporary depression to severe and long-lasting. If this feeling has persisted over a long period of time, then I suggest that you contact mental health provider.

Sleep deprivation as well as poor nutrition- especially over long periods of time- can greatly impact your brain function. Also there may be external factors that can contribute (i.e. a break-up)... and even gloomy weather can influence your mental state. Just try to eat healthy, get plenty of sleep and exercise and stay away from unnecessary drama if you can. There are a lot of stressors and pressures for people your age and it is important that you listen to your body.

You're right.. Eat well, exercise, and sleep. Cut out on caffeine, sugar and alcohol or drugs if you are taking them. Plus make sure that you keep your head up, literally. If you walk around looking depressed, it's hard to feel upbeat. There are lots of books or articles on the internet on how to get into a good sleep pattern.

Also, bear in mind, that it's natural for people to be depressed on occasion. It may be a way to motivate you to move on to a way of life that suits you better. It may be the teenage hormones kicking in. It may be just the way humans are like the way the year goes from summer to winter and back again.

If it turns out that you need to take medication, that's fine but start with the basics first.

Just a note. A lot of people find walking up mountains really helpful. The getting out in nature, the exercise, and the being able to see long distances are all good.

It is not an easy process to lose weight. Mostly because you will have difficulty maintaining a program that does not consider your life style. The information available to dieters both online and off is in the majority of instances garbage, engendered by the latest money sucking scam diet, or major food packaging players, who are only interested in revenue streams.

If you want to engage in a sustainable, maintainable weight loss program, I suggest you visit the link below. You can eat what you want, and you will learn how to design your own meal plans to sustain your weight loss once you acheive it. Exercise and healthy diet is the key, the information is below.

I'm not a doctor, but perhaps it is a vitamin deficiency.
The B vitamins are great, but check with your doctor if you're on other medication.
You need a goal! Something to look forward to! A reason to get up each day. Do something fun FOR YOU!
How about getting a new hair style or hair cut? Or having your nails done and at least a couple new outfits. Stuff like that cheers up a lot of ladies.

As for being happy in a relationship, I believe you need to be happy inside first before you can be happy with someone else.
Do something for yourself for YOU, not for a guy.
Good Luck

Hiya Matty. Seems like you really know the answers.......... Good sleep, better diet, water, exercise, daylight, fresh air. Go out with your friends. Get things off your chest, don't bottle them up. You sound down. Try and good B vit complex. I think it is B12 that can help with moods. Dont self-medicate with anything, even herbal. Go and see your doctor for advice. Crikey you have all your life ahead of you. Get out with friends. Go to a gym and get some exercise. It is a proven fact that exercise will help you feel better. Don't necessarily rush into dating again. Go out with a group of friends and you will know when the time is right. Take care. You sound very intelligent and deep down you know what you should do....

GOOD LUCK MATTY....

See anxiety, depression and boredom are the lack of the presence of correct motivational factors in life.

i would advise you following, as i would to my own bro/sis if he/she was in ur place.

Watch the following video, are the people in this video seem depressed or they seem grateful for what THE CREATOR has given them. Watch them and compare yourself to them.

But most importantly, see u loose interest in life or become depressed when there is no correct motivational factor for u, if there's one, you don't live a life of depression but are energetic and charged up to work for that goal. I would advise you following(if trying something unique and different is not odd for you):

Listen to this song, this takes u in a totally different dimension, but listen and watch both, and then think about what the purpose of our life should be and is yours on that course, once you have understood clearly (thru this song, the interviews, the movie and the stories below) what the purpose of life is then you will not feel depressed but motivated to do something for it.

Do you know about 'cat stevens' the famous singer of the 70s, now he is known as 'yusuf islam,' i would advise you watch his interview on youtube, he used to be on drugs and wasn't happy with his life even with ton of money, but now has transformed to a way of life which he is content with.

Also do you know about rapper loon, this guy was with p-diddy, i would advise you watch his interview on youtube as well.

When done, watch the following it is not based on fiction, but real events, this went on to change the course of the world that we live in today.

Also if you like reading stories, which are both real and educative, here try the following site. These people (even though some of them were very young) faced trials and persecution, but emerged as successful ones(praises to THE CREATOR ALONE for that), and made history, wrote new chapters in the books of ethics and morality, reached to the top, yet were very humble but strict, the rich and strong would be threatened by them but the weak and poor will feel secure.

trust me there is a solution for all of our problems ALHAMDULILLAH(praises to THE CREATOR only), but we need to knock the right door.
