caffeine withdrawal symptoms?!

Question: Caffeine withdrawal symptoms?
for the past couple months ive been taking 200-800 mg of caffeine pills just about everyday. 4 days ago i decided it wasnt healthy so i tried quiting cold turkey. the past 2 days i had a throbbing headache, nausea, a cough and the chills at night so i was waking up just about every hour. this morning when i woke up i decided to make myself throw up and all that came out was a little bright yellow fluid that tasted like the caffeine pills. do these symptoms sound like they are from the caffeine? about an hour and a half ago i took 400mg which took away the muscle soreness and kinda the headache but i still feel pretty light headed and its hard to eat.

Answers:

The only symptom I've ever heard of being associated with caffeine withdrawal is headache. If the last caffeine you took before throwing up was four days before, there is not going to be any residue of caffeine in your stomach, period. The only people who still have in their stomachs the remains of what they consumed four days ago are corpses. Everybody's different, different sensitivities, etc., but it seems if you were sensitive enough to caffeine to cause all those symptoms you wouldn't be taking that much in the first place. And the fever doesn't sound like it has anything to do with the caffeine. That and some of the other symptoms sound like you've caught some bug that has nothing to do with the caffeine.

BA Psychology and I consume a lot of caffeine too.

Go to a doctor, please. The worst that can happen is they say you have some simple bug or withdrawal symptoms. However, they may prescribe something to help. I don't like the sound of those symptoms, and the medicine you take may make it worse. Who knows what medicines are deadly when mixed together? So I advise you to see a doctor asap. Also for later, when you're trying to get over the caffeine, I recommend that you have chocolate whenever you really want coffee or a pill. It has caffeine but less, and sometimes quitting cold turkey harms your body. Good luck!
