Who saids they can't? Your just assuming that but you don't know for a fact. I'm sure there are people out there that are perfectly capable of being isolated by themselves in this world.
I like being alone a good percent of the time but being by others is nice too.
I think it has to do with the evolution of mankind. Early man had to stay together in groups to survive. Those kind of instincts don't just go away. Evolution takes a long time to change things. But if you think about it, most mammals stay together in groups. Horses, wolf packs, elephants, even lions. Few mammals are solitary creatures. It is normal to want to be in the company of your own kind. There's nothing weak or pathetic about it. It's just the way we are. We as people need social interaction with others. Being in your cell 23 out of 24 hours a day, and exercising in isolation, doesn't provide any social interaction, no matter how many meals you get a day.
interesting point. i think that if a human was born and from the beginning was never dependant on another we wouldnt have a problem. since we are born and until a certain age we adapt to be dependant on the companionship of other humans. once that companionship is taken away or brains cant handle it because its too new. eventually, i think, a person will begin to fill what was once occupied by other humans with things they made up, fake companions because they cant handle the drastic change. thats just my thoughts though
im only a freshman so i really dont know
