What happens if I go to the E.R. with an obsession with overdosing and suicide?!

Question: What happens if I go to the E.R. with an obsession with overdosing and suicide?
I am 24 years old and I am going through a difficult time right now..

Having problems with the law.. I've gone to court 5 times in the past year and my next court date is May 5th.. and we've gotten nowhere in a year.. It's discouraging. I've struggled with an addiction to prescription meds.. I had an appointment at an Addiction Center yesterday and I left there wanting to swallow hundreds of pills.. How ironic that I've been banned from my pharmacy since April 2010.. I have meds on me, over 200 of them, but it's not what I want.. I want specific meds, and I've overdosed so often, been in the Cardiology department, Intensive Care and in two coma's.. And eventually I'll just take the meds I have on me.

I'm tired, tired and tired. I work as a photographer and photography used to be my passion, but now it just frustrates me. I hate everything.

I want to die so badly. I do. I just need something to push me over the edge to take the meds.. I don't know anymore.. I'll take any of your advice

And even if I do go to the E.R...what do I say, and I don't want to wait 12 hours in the waiting room, and what if they don't even take me seriously

Answers:

They will take you seriously and could put you in a 72-hour hold, which sounds like a good idea right now.

You need to be properly dosed an put on an appropriate anti-depressant and get counseling. Many councelors this day treat not only drug problems, but the underlying issues that caused you to get involved with them in the first place. By asking for and getting help, it will also probably help you in court.

Say why you've gone to the ER. They'll keep an eye on you till the ER doctor comes around to refer you to psych, which could take half an hour or 24 hours. You won't be allowed to leave until the treatment team determines that you're no longer a danger to yourself. It's impossible to say how a particular hospital will address your addiction.

Lifes not worth ending over the law, you should either go to the e.r and explain like u did on here or you need to go to a rehabillitation center or a pshyc ward for a while and let them help you, i dont wanna see something about you being on the news. i advise you to seek help

Please seek help

they will put you in a ward

experience

They will put you in a ward for sure.
I'm also a photographer. It's still my passion. You need to ask God to help you. I went through a drug/alcohol addiction, and by court order I was forced to go to AA meetings. All they did for me was make me wanna get high. I was also hospitalized three times in my teens and 20s. I'm 50 now. Clean for 26 years. Jesus Christ was the only one who could help me and He does every single day. He loves you. He died for you. Somehow in our pitiful human existence He found a reason to come down to the earth and die for us. I'm not some religious nut. I'm just someone who has been there.
If you feel the hospital is the way to go, then do it. I'll be praying for you.
