How Do You Know If You're Hallucinating?!

Question: How Do You Know If You're Hallucinating?
So for a while now I been seeing things that aren't there. Not eye floaters, but like weird crap. Like for example, twinkling stars that are unnaturally bright in an empty night sky, three little bugs crawling on the floor come to look down there not there, a cat with no facial details, a face appearing from next to my shoulder, a hand reaching over to give me a glue stick when no one is behind me, a stuffed animal winking at you, etc. These are a few of the things I've seen and I was very depressed before I started seeing things, but when the depression stopped out of nowhere the seeing things began.
When I see them sometimes my heart pounds and I look, but nothing is there. I know nothings there, like as soon as I see nothing is there I believe it. I thought a hallucination was when you actually think something is really there. But I know nothing is there. It can be kind of unsettling tingly but a lot of the times it's not scary because the stuff just doesn't make any sense, like the stars. I experience a ton of anxiety, not really from being afraid that I will see something again. Mainly because I just know that if I see something I'm just seeing things again.
And I'm going to the doctors for the anxiety I feel and the seeing thing part. But I don't want to risk any drugs for the hallucinating if it's not actually a hallucination.
How can I know?
Do you think that I'm hallucinating?

Answers:

Go to a doctor. It doesn't seem overly serious to me, but it might get worse, so go see a doctor. Good luck

It could be your imagination, However you could also have some kind of chemical imbalance in your brain which can cause seeing, hearing or tasting something that does not exist. These Imbalances are not that uncommon it actually effects 2 million americans and 24 million people world wide. I recommend seeing a doctor and tell him whats happening.

Yeah thats hallucinating. Are you on drugs?
