What happens if you go to the hospital for suicidal and homicidal thoughts?!

Question: What happens if you go to the hospital for suicidal and homicidal thoughts?
I am having crazy thoughts.. Wicked ones.

I want to kill someone so badly. She has been frustrating me so much, and I want to just, arrgh. I hate her..

I want to get in my car and drive it into something and crash and kill myself. Or something violent. I am having this violent urge to kill myself. Or to go and jump off a bridge.. I mean, I'm surrounded by atleast 3 bridges near where I live. Or I want to hang myself, but I want it to be so violent, not just normal hanging . I don't know, I know I'm not thinking straight, but right now I have enough self control not to do anything, but these thoughts are violent and I don't know where the hell they came from. What the hell can I do

I want to kill that person so badly. I can't stand her anymore.. I can't. I can't. I am losing it.

And if I go to the E.R..What do I tell the triage nurse ? That I want to kill someone and kill myself ? Seriously.. won't they think I'm pathetic

Answers:

If you go to your local ER they will contact Mental Health. Be fair warned, they could legally hold you for 48 hours if they think you are a threat to yourself or others, which your question states. They won't think your pathetic, they will realize that you need help. Hang in there!

My life

You aren't pathetic and they won't treat you like you are; it's their job to care. I've admitted myself to the hospital for similar thoughts and they didn't lock me up and throw away the key or anything, actually they treated me as if I were normal which really helped me feel better about myself. I hope you seek help and I wish you all the luck in the world. =)

The E.R will evaluate you, and if they feel your a harm to yourself or others then they will send you to a psych ward. In the psych ward they'l give medication that might help with those thoughts.

There are people in your life that love you, think of how devestated they'l be.

Go there and find out.
