Bipolar/ manic depression?!

Question: Bipolar/ manic depression?
I think I may be bipolar (type 2). I am seeing my therapist (for my eating disorder) next week, should I bring this up? and how should I?

Basically the past 4 years i have gone from being very depressed to having something like hypo mania. I have transitioned through these about 3 times. I seem to be depressed more often than manic (or- hypomanic). They last for months at a time.
I am not sure if this is related, but I also always have a fear that someone is in my house.. Like I ca hear footssteps sometimes. and feel like someone is watching me.

Can you please (If you are bipolar, or know someone who is, or had any expierence with it) tell me what the signs of it are?

I am a 17 year old female.

Answers:

My mom is Bipolar (not sure what type).

During her Manic periods she never slept or ate. She spent a lot of money.
When she went through times of depression it was total opposite. All she did was sleep and eat.

Last summer she started to see things and think things that weren't normal. That people were following her and tracking her. She stopped using her phone because she was convinced that "they" would get her. We couldn't get a hold of her and she checked into a motel. At one point she walked MILES to Philadelphia Airport, and tried to get on a plane (without a passport). She is currently in a hospital because the medication they put her on afterwards made her messed up, but is doing fine.

Please, Please talk to your therapist about your concerns.

Google Bipolar Disorder (if you haven't already) and learn about the symptoms.
