so long story short, ive been in hospital with damage to my small intestines. im now recovering but because i lost so much weight and was on a drip etc, my brain has been affected. now every day i feel different. some days im overly happy, and some im depressed. its uncontrolable. right now i just want to cry for no reason. what is the best way to treat this? seeing as there is no emotion problem its all physical..

Definitely talk to your doctor or a medical professional about this. It sounds like you definitely know why what is happening is happening, so now you just need someone to help you make it right. I would just tell your doctor about this and see what they have to say. It may be a normal side effect, or something serious. Either way it is better to get help. Plus, a doctor would be able to get you treatment or medicine to help with your mood swings. Also, a doctor will have a much better answer for you and more specific help than you would find on most yahoo answers forums. Talking to your doctor is probably your best bet.

Buy a pedometer, clip it to your belt, and aim for an extra 1,000 steps a day. On average, sedentary people take only 2,000 to 3,000 steps a day. Adding 2,000 steps will help you maintain your current weight and stop gaining weight; adding more than that will help you lose weight.

Something in your brain is probably wrong I recently had a comcussion which has some relevance to this but see a neurologist
