Why are psychiatrists unable to defend the field of Psychiatry when people call !

Question: Why are psychiatrists unable to defend the field of Psychiatry when people call it "pseudoscience"?
Answers:

Because all they're truly after is your money. The psychiatrists get paid to prescribe all kinds of dangerous drugs with horrible side effects (I would know), and Big Pharma, and the companies who make these drugs reap the benefits, and all the money that goes to pay for them. A lot of psychiatrists are selfish and greedy, and they care more about their wages than the patient.
Another reason is because of that book, The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Do you know how many disorders have simply had extra words attached to them to create different types of ONE disorder? Teenage rebellion is now a mental disorder...they call it Oppositional Defiance Disorder. Can you believe it? They've all brainwashed themselves into believing that these conjured "disorders" actually exist, when they are all normal behaviors.
The next reason would be this idiotic mindset: "Everyone has a mental illness." I have a family member who is this way, who has drugged both of her kids, despite one of them suffering terrible side effects. People with this mindset believe that everyone on the planet is somehow mentally ill, and needs treatment (medication).
The last reason is that most people are so quick to give their children meds, or they take them themselves, as a FIRST option. What they should be doing is going to therapy, and trying to find out whether it works for them. Medications should only be used as a last resort, but sadly, most people want the quick fix.

I've been a victim of corrupt doctors and dangerous psych meds.

No matter what psychiatrists do or how many work at defending the field of Psychiatry there will always be people who are ignorant who will keep the stigma of mental illness going. Those people either don't know or don't believe that Mental Illness is many times a disease like diabetes or heart disease or serious Disorders caused by trauma during childhood. I have someone in my family who refuses to believe in Bi-Polar. When I am depressed and absolutely unable to do what I need to do he always says "Just get up and go, that's what I do" And he has no depression. We have to live with it. If the subject comes up I explain to people what it is. I just say you can't tell by looking at me that anything is wrong with me but that doesn't mean there isn't. And I ask "Can you see if the man across the way has heart disease or diabetes. It will always be there.
