New job and ADHD...How to conquer?!
Question: New job and ADHD...How to conquer?
Last year I was diagnosed with ADHD. I was laid off my last job....but I can't help but feel like a failure because I did mess up a few times on projects and didn't realize it.
I have a new job now, that requires the utmost accuracy and efficiency. I don't want my ADHD to get the best of me.
Does anybody have any tips, tricks, for me to not mess up? Will caffeine help? I heard coffee helps people with ADHD focus...as well as regular exercise, helps eliminate symptoms of ADHD.
I don't have health insurance (not eligible until 3 months of employment has passed) so I cannot get any ADHD medicine.
Please help me! I really need this job. Thank you.

I've had ADHD for probably my whole life! So I feel you on this one! If you do get on medication on the future, I would be very careful on what you take, due to it being very addicting, with tons of side effects! One med that isn't addicting is Strattera...haven't tried that one...
As far as your job, I know some of the following has helped me complete my work on time and effiecently.
WHITE NOISE! I always have music playing at my job, maybe headphones would be more appropriate at yours?? But backround noise always helps keep me on track, and easier to concentrate!
POST-IT NOTES...or a notebook, to keep ideas or things you need to get back too.
Sometimes I'll even send myself a email at the end of the day, or something I need to complete the next day, to help get me on track, So I won't forget it!!
FINISH WHAT YOU START! I'm famous for having 10 things going on, and never getting anything finished! TRY your hardest to finish the task at hand and then move on to the next. We may think were good at multi tasking..but in reality it's just SCATTERED!!
CHECKLISTS...set alarms on your phone to remind you to do things at a certain times, deadlines etc...
Hope that helps, my attention span ran away!!!
