hypomania because of zoloft?!


Question: Hypomania because of zoloft?
i have taken zoloft for depression...(100 mg) and i got dignosed with hypomania because the dose was to high for me so were lowering the dose...i just want to ask can this progress to Bi Polar2 disorder because i preaveasly had phycosis, or is the hypomania caused by scetsophrania?

You are most likely bipolar type 2. I had the same thing happen to me and that is my problem.

As it was explained to me, treating bipolar is like an Oreo cookie. You want to have a hard cookie on both sides and the good stuff in between. The good stuff is where you want your moods to be. So, you need a good antidepressant on the bottom to keep you from going too low and a mood stabilizer on the top to keep you from going too high. If you just have the antidepressant, it will shoot you too high.

You best option would be to go back to the professional that gave you your diagnosis and provided you with medication. They will have the best answer for your specific situation.
