Question: Is this due to lack of sleep? Please help.?
I'm fifteen years old and my life isn't terrible at all, I have money, I have a nice home, I have great parents that are still together and I have a lot of friends.

I never used to cry... at all until my nan died about four years ago, then I used to cry all.the.time, not just about my Nan, I actually don't know what I'm crying for.

Ever since I was small I would hate to go to sleep, and I don't get much sleep, my sleeping pattern is really bad.

I cry so much now for no reason and even self harm, is this serious? or am I just a moody teenager that doesn't get enough sleep? Although, I'm actually a very happy person at School, I'm known for being lively at School.

All answers will be appreciated, I've wondered about this for years.

melatonin is a natural substance you can buy at any pharmacy, it monitors your sleep waking cycles, and will help you feel better, sleep at night and get up in the morning..it is difficult if you don't sleep..your crying may just be hormones, you might just have to cry your way through it...and eventually, it should go away..but since melatonin i think is a hormone, it should help. .try to eat good healthy foods, that will help. When you are depressed you lose your interest and zest for life, it does not sound like you have. Like you wake up in the morning look around, and say I'm not interested and go back to sleep!

It sounds like depression. I've been depressed before so I speak from experience. Talk to someone before things get to serious. Your sadness might be rooted in the loss of your nan and is just your way of grieving but I think you should talk to someone to help you through this. There is nothing wrong with asking for help which took me a long time to learn. Because I didn't get help I ended up suicidal, missing school and having a truancy record and DJO. Don't wait and end up like I did!!!Good luck!!!!!!:)
