My mistake of making myself funny...?!

Question: My mistake of making myself funny...?
In my life I am always trying to make people be happy because it`s something that It`s hard for me to live, so many times I make myself look like a clown by the things that I might say or do, just to make other people have a smile in their faces like in my avatar but the thing inside this person there is a guy with very low profile who has many issues that has to deal with. But by being like that I realize that it doesn`t help me because people will just take me for a laugh even if I am serious for something which makes me a bit sad now, not that it matters a lot.

I try to get a bit serious few weeks ago and stop been the clown but people will come and ask me if everything is okay, because I am okay for them only if I make them smile. The reason what make me realize that it`s that there was a girl which I was interested into her and she would only talk to me when she wanted to say something stupid just for the laughs. What matters for me it`s not the girl but the way she behaved and how everyone behaves around me.

Any advices of how to fix this problem?

Hello Egon,

Your situation reminds me a lot of General George S. Patton. In WWII, Patton was the finest general the world had ever seen. What made him so great was that he insisted on doing what's right, no matter what the consequences for him were. He put the justice of the people ahead of himself. No matter how much it damaged him, he would always put the people's needs ahead of his own. He took a lot of heavy hits as a result and racked up enemies with increasing speed. But until the day he died, he held himself up to the highest moral standard he could and did what's right by the people. Sure, he had faults and lapses in judgement. But overall, he's probably one of the greatest people who ever lived. The reason why I say your situation reminds me of him is because it is clear that you have a definite purpose for the people. Each and every person on Earth has a place in human society. Each and ever person has a mission to complete on behalf of humanity's best interests. Sometimes we don't like paying the costs, but we must still carry on. You must decide for yourself. What is your purpose? What does humanity need you for? Are you going to be like Patton and do what's right by the people, or will you cower like so many before you have done? The choice is yours.

What they think doesnt matter, screw them, its my philosophy. When people ignore people like that, they dont realize it causes mental illnesses. If you keep worrying about it, and trying to get their attention, your going to get hurt. What you need is a freind who you can be yourself around, but as I like to call it, your situation there is fried. Everyone already is ignoring you (it doesnt necesarily mean they dont like you, but they assume you dont have anything useful to say), so what you need to do is find a new enviorment. You need a cleen slate somewhere, where you can meet people under no pressure. Try a sports league, or a religeos retreat. A religeos retreat is REALY good for making freinds, think about it, your alone for three days with those people.

Go to your campus minister, but if you go to a public school youll have to search online. Their usually three days, friday saturday and sunday, and you dont have to miss school. However, finding a ride there is difficult. Good luck dude, and remember, DONT WORRY ABOUT WHAT THEY THINK.

If your self esteem is low, then making others laugh is a way of making you feel better. If you really want to change, you need to talk to someone who can understand why your self esteem is so low, and how to help you boost it by just being yourself. A psychologist can help you the most, but you might try talking to a school counselor if you can't see a psychologist. I knew several 'class clowns' in high school. A couple outgrew it, but it was really hard on them socially until they did.
