OMG I took ambien and had a car accident?!
Question: OMG I took ambien and had a car accident?
Answers:
Yes. You, me, thousands of others.
It's quite common with the ambien and the unrelated benzos.
If the cops haven't called you by now then you have gotten away with it so feel good about that
Zolpidem (Ambien) is a nonbenzodiazepine hypnotic, a sedative, with a half life of 2-3 hours. A side-effect is that it impairs memory. Besides amnesia it can cause hallucinations.
Zolpidem works within 15-20 minutes to put people to sleep but is short acting, it doesn't keep you asleep.
Some people have reported unexplained sleepwalking, and a few have reported driving, binge eating, sleep talking and performing other daily tasks while sleeping.
A class action suit was filed against Sanofi-Aventis in March 2006 on behalf of those that reported symptoms.

All sedative hypnotics including ambien, lunesta and benzos like ativan or xanax are amnesia drugs. I tell people here on yahoo answers not to take them, and get frequent thumbs down.
I suggest you pay for advice from an attorney. An hour should be enuf, for around $300. I do my own legal stuff usually, and I'm cheap, but I really think you need an attorney in this case.
I ended up with extreme worsening of bipolar from one pill, ended up in a state hospital that was abusive as hell, and it took me a couple years to get over that.
I take ambien , but never got behind the wheel , consider it a blessing you are alive
