Answers:

Wear a couple wristbands. =D

Wristbands are cool

Firstly i would recommend cutting in less obvious places, such as your thighs, shoulders or underside of your upper arm - that way you can cover them easier (and they're less likely to get infected!). Also you can try excuses like "we just got a new cat" and "i was trimming roses" but sooner or later people will catch on and it'll make things ten times worse when they realise you lied.
Please don't blame your dog though - if authorities heard a dog bit or attacked you he'd be taken away and put down - you don't want that on your conscience!

Personal Experience

I'm going to be a little more blunt and direct than you would perhaps like, but I have the theory if a person really doesn't want to talk about cuts, they will cut in a place which can not be seen by others. If you truly didn't want others to talk to you about them, you wouldn't cut in a place which can be seen. Therefore, at least on some level, you want people to notice and talk to you about them. The fact that you are forming scripts to use say that you want a conversation ready in your head to use. You might not be ready to give up the habit, but you do want to talk about it, and to be honest, yes, it hurts to talk, because that really hammers home the significance and seriousness of what you are doing, but find an adult you trust to talk to about it. If you choose the right person, it will help you feel less lonely in what you are doing.
I would like to warn against only talking to another cutter though. Self harm can be perpetuated by listening to what another harmer has done, and on the days when you are both feeling low and struggling, neither will ba able to pull the other up. Please find someone else to confide as well as your friend, even though you say you don't want to. There WILL come a day soon when you need someone else's help to give up and it will be easier if you can talk to that person who already knows about it.

I just tell people some crazy story like... "Oh, I fell out of a glass window as a child.." Or "I'm secretly cat woman and I got in a nasty tiff with batman yesterday..." Something funny, though. Usually they will forget about the cuts and just laugh. It works for me anyways. About the cutting though, I think you should tell someone about it, at least one person that you know you can trust. Someone that can hold you accountable. Someone who can check up on you and make sure that your doing okay.
Well, take care! <3
