Question: Is my sister making me depressed?
I am 17 and my sister is 16. She has bipolar disorder and has an extremely bad temper. She can go from joking around to actually being angry and cursing and throwing stuff. I do not like being around her because I never know when she will get angry. It has gotten to the point where I won't leave my room to avoid being around her. I want to spend more time with my parents but I avoid being in family outtings or whatever that my sister are involved in. I really hate being any where near her and my parents make me feel like an aweful person because of it. My sister is just so mean to me and my boyfriend that I can't stand her. She has thrown stuff at me dumped coffee on me and she has hit my boyfriend too. It is just really confusing when you think she is joking around and being playful and then all of a sudden she loses her temper. My parents have noticed how much happier I am when my sister is gone. What can I do about this?

Very tough situation. It's not really her fault, but that is a little over the top. Just tell her not to go crazy when she's angry. She's 16 years old, and she's throwing stuff? That's ridiculous, tell her to tell you when she's angry, instead of throwing stuff at you and making a fit.
