therapist trying to put me back in the hospital?!

Question: Therapist trying to put me back in the hospital?
my therapist is trying to put me back in the psychatic unit but i
i don't want to go back. it was alot of fun in there but i feel as though
thats not where i need to be right now. i should be on the outside world with
everyone else. she asked me if i could promise her i won't hurt myself and i
said no. now shes trying to put me back in the hospital. can she do this since i just turned 18?

Answers:

Yes . When you refused to promise that you wouldn't hurt yourself you proved yourself to be a possible danger to YOU. Being a danger to yourself or others is grounds to have you committed .....

Yes she can. She can use all your previous sessions as evidence of your condition. If you use any of the following words will allow them to come and get you. The words are hurt, harm or inflict pain. They are looking out for your welling being as well as others around you. It happened to me last year but I was able to get released. I went into the hospital did an evaluation and used words opposite of what I wrote down. I said I had pain in my heart from a relationship breakup and I do not plan to harm that person because that person lives an hour away from me and I do not have a car to go over there. Hope this helps.

Good to see you on here again. Not Depressed Girl anymore, that's good. I don't know the answer to your question, but I believe you, being 18, would have to agree to go back, or she, as a therapist, might have the ability to have you re-admitted, if she feels you may harm yourself. I don't think there is a simple answer to this one. Anyhow, thanks for being here for others. You are a great supporter.

She sure can put you back in if you're acting in a manor that shows you are a danger to yourself or others.
Something in your post worries me "<i>it was a lot of fun in there</i>"
Since it was "fun" to you maybe you are unknowingly saying things that would make her recommend in-patient therapy. I am thinking that you may be self sabotaging to be put back inside.

I don't know how to anwser this because I don't know how bad off or what you have usually there's some value to what a therapist says even if you don't agree with it, maybe compromise but tell her ur not going back to the hospital

Hey you just answered one of my questions with an answer that wasn't totally moronic. I'm not sure you can be involuntarily commited but I could be wrong.

she wont, you're thinking too much. tell her "i can change - and will never hurt myself"

She can't!!

just talk to her more she is only looking out for you
