FREE online psychiatrist?!

Question: FREE online psychiatrist?
does anyone know any websites where I can talk to someone for free online?
I know it would be better to go to like a proper person or whatever but I'm really shy and i hate one-to-one talks and confrontation.
also, I don't want to get my family involved or for them to worry because there's enough going on without me being depressed all the time

So, does anyone know a place online for free?
Thankyou x

Answers:

I have never heard of a free (no charge) psychiatrist.

You need to make an appointment with a psychiatrist in order to obtain their services.

In regards to your feeling quite uncomfortable and shy in regards to one-on-one type situations, try writing down all that you are seeing the psychiatrist for on the evening prior. Don't eliminate anything.

When you arrive at your appointment, give the note you have written down to the psychiatrist and allow him time to read all the information on the paper. Also note that you are very uncomfortable and quite shy in the situation that you do find yourself in at that time.

These professionals have been trained in how to deal with situations such as this and may very well be able to make you feel that you are able to confide in them.

Do give them the chance. You are in need of this type of medical service and the only way that you will be able to overcome some of the shyness that you currently experience.

Unfortunately, I can't see how the online venue would benefit you because there is no way to regulate the net and have a completely professionally certified psychiatrist verified.

I would talk to local Mental Health agencies, because a lot have programs to help people that can't pay a lot of money.

Mine Please?

You get what you pay for and i wouldn't trust the advise i got on-line if it was free.
Cant you just independently see your doctor? I know you dont like face to face but this would be safer than chatting to an unregistered wanna be fake therapist.

No. That would be unethical. You cannot get treatment on the internet. You have to make an appt. with a psychiatrist and work on your problems face to face.

There's no such thing as an online psychiatrist, let alone a free one. None of them work for free.
