Is it possible to become asexual?!

Question: Is it possible to become asexual?
I have this problem. I want to disable my sex drive with out hurting my body. I have an illness and I have to take "supplements" well call them, to stay healthy. When I take them they increase my sex drive, which is an unwanted side effect. I want to stay healthy but become completely asexual-no sex drive at all. Is it possible to remain healthy and get rid of the sex drive. If I just leave it alone and forget that it's there, no masturbation or anything, is it possible that it will eventually just go away. Would doing so have a negative effect on my health. I really do mean this! I would lobotomize myself just to not have to constantly look at naked girls all the time. I am just wondering if there is a less permanent way to do this.

Answers:

You should stop taking the 'supplements ' that you are self medicating with, because you really don't know what they are doing, do you.

Asexual can mean what you have described , as well.

It is true that many medications kill the sex drive, so you may want to talk to a psychiatrist into sexual issues as well.

I doubt it will go away by itself...

The only thing i can think of is negative consequence.

Get an elastic band, a really good strong one and wear it as a bracelet. Everytime to you think sexy thoughts, get the band and stretch it tight and let it smack your wrist.

If it doesn't hurt to buggery, play around with it until it does.

The idea is that you'll become so reluctant to ping yourself with the elastic band that your subconscious will start to try and control the thoughts that lead to it happening again.

too many people are confused as to what asexual means. it implies you are reproducing with yourself. no, you cannot do that. though im sure the top transexual scientists around the world are working on it

also, youre talking about removing testosterone from your body. who you are as a person will seriously change if you try to get rid of it. are you sure youre ready for that kind of serious mental change youre asking for? if youre doing this because youre a rapist or something, you should probably see a psychiatrist.

first off, how old are you ? Hormones could be playing a huge roll in your situation. Second, dont give up all your sex drive, your a guy! I personally think its normal to sometimes get out of hand with sexual thoughts, actions, etc. But if you think its too much try training your brain to stop, lay off the masturbation, porn, what have you. Try doing things to get your mind off of it. Do monotonous activities, do repetitive things. Play the game tetris, it helps clear your head !!

I've taken anti-depressants that redused my sex drive,so maybe there something out there...... ..

If you're serious go talk to a doctor and see what can be done....

Well.. I know there are certain medications that reduce sexual desire. Lots of anti-depressants are known to reduce desire.

Other types of medication can substantially reduce your sex drive.
