Ways to seperate manic thoughts and happy, normal thoughts?!

Question: Ways to seperate manic thoughts and happy, normal thoughts?
I was diangosed with bipolar nearly 3 years ago but didnt realize it until a few weeks ago. My friends and family and myself through old writings showed I was going on "repeat" every 4-6 months from happy and doing anything i could imagine to being depressed, anxious and angry. My doctor talked to me and told me I am bipolar and that my condition got worse. Even in his office they showed how I would go and say the same things every time I cycle even tho i dont remember them. I started back on meds again and am on 3 now. I started them last thursday. How can i distinguish which feelings are true and real vs which ones are manic?

Answers:

That just takes time.... eventually you learn to recognize signs that it is mania and not just happiness. For me mania is very pressured..... I feel pressured to talk faster, walk faster, do more.... regular happiness is a very relaxed and natural feeling... you will figure it out given time.

Look for something or think of an experience that truly makes you happy. And by happy let's say that there's a tingling feeling inside of you. You should also talk to your specialist.
